Truly Transitional...

A switch in seasons means it’s time to change up & refresh your wardrobe and buy some new key pieces, as I highlighted in my previous post. However, if you are anything like me you'll find it’s a bit hard to let go of those last summer pieces and pack them up for the year. So, I have come up with a few ways to transition some classic summer garments for the colder months!  Starting with the simple floral sundress…

In the summer this dress was beautiful worn with bare legs and brown leather sandals but as the leaves turn brown it is time to add a few extra layers for warmth. Autumn is the perfect opportunity to layer your summer pieces, a simple white shirt looks great under a floral dress and a cardigan adds a little warmth but won't overheat you!

As winter draws in you needn't pack away that old floral dress. The fashion pack have created a trend called ‘Winter Florals’ the means you can't get away with flower prints all year round! Any floral print looks stylish as a skirt popping out of a thick jumper.  Pairing your dress with socks, boots and an oversized trilby hat conjures images of Sienna Miller & KeiraKnightley in the film The Edge of Love.

Well, that's all for now folks, next Saturday watch out for the next post in the 'transitional pieces' series all about styling the maxi dress through autumn & winter!!

A Summer Wedding

Hey guys,
I'm back from my Summer escapades and thought I'd kick things back off with a post about what I wore to my brother and his wife's Summer wedding! It was such a beautiful day and I'm glad I get to share it here with you!

For the wedding (I'm the first on the left if you're new) I wore a coral dress that I actually found in (shock of all shocks) M&S who have MASSIVELY stepped up their game lately! I chose to pair the dress with a statement sparkly necklace and a bejewelled clutch from Anthropologie. To keep it simple I finished my outfit off with a pair of low white heels from Next. I hope you like my outfit! :) These pictures show me and my siblings getting pouty for the camera!

I kept my makeup simple with NARS sheer glow foundation (perfect for days when you want perfect skin and you know there's going to be a  LOT of photos taken) shimmery eyeshadow and a nice coral lipstick (Costa Chic - MAC)..... This is me and the beautiful 'Mama darling' !

Will wore a rather dashing navy suit (also M&S) and a red tie!

We were pretty excited to find there was a photobooth and got a bit snap happy!!

I made a pinterest board full of ideas for what to wear to a summer wedding as a guest so you can see more here: http://www.pinterest.com/duskw/wedding-guest-outfit-ideas/

Well, that's all for now folks! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, there's a couple of  sunny holiday snaps to come so keep an eye out for those!

Casual & Cool and a little bit Cheeky! This outfit is a bit tongue in cheek with the 'kiss me' tee, perfect for a quick jaunt around Camden lock or a skate date!!

Keeping it classic, can't go wrong with a lnd (little navy dress) and red lips & heels to match!

✿ ❀ ❁ Vintage Inspired ✿ ❀ ❁

Hey guys, just a quick 'personal style' post for you! :)

This is what I wore the other day for a trip out shopping in the late Summer/ early Autumn sunshine! I thought the outfit was a little bit vintage looking hence my crafty cameo style photoshopping haha. The top is a little cropped t shirt style jumper from Topshop - it was a little bit pricey for what it is but I bought it with a gift card so I felt ok buying it because it is so pretty!! I think this thin knit in a t shirt cut looks so cute and 1950's style, I can't wait to wear it with a midi length a-line skirt now that its a bit chilly! I thought the crochet detail would really compliment this adorable lacy skirt I got for my birthday from my boyfriend's sister (thankyouuu!) I think it also has a nice vintage-y style to it and it reminds me of delicate petticoats *swoon* I added a pair of pearl earrings (again a gift, I'm such a lucky girl) to really top off the 50's look and trotted on my merry way :)

Top - topshop
Skirt - h&m (gift)
Shoes - Primark
Earrings - unknown (gift)

Now that the cold winds are really starting to blow in London I think this is definitely the last of my pasty white pins you shall have to suffer until next year (cheers from all!)

I am pretty excited to be piling on the layers and wearing Primark super cosy tights (have you tried these yet??!! SO COSY.. the packaging DOES NOT lie) and of course my (almost) favourite time of the year is approaching, Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!! What are you going to be for Halloween? I was thinking of doing some costume idea posts, what do you think?

Winter ootd

Hey guys,

another quick ootd for you. It's finally getting slightly warmer here in London - meaning the snow's gone! I opted for the classic skater dress and knee highs, with a jaguar print twist!

To keep warm I layered a couple of thick cardis and a scarf. One tip I like to do is pop a pair of thin black tights over your socks, this keeps you toasty and holds your socks up! :)

Hope you like the outfit

Winter ootds!

Hey guys, I thought I'd share some of my wintery OOTDS from the last month :) hope you like!

Outfit One:

This was a casual look when I went to see Batman at the cinema! I wore my maroon waterfall t-shirt from Primark and plain black jersey leggings. I accessorised with my mixed metal spike necklace and purple brogues. To keep snug and warm I wore this big green tartan puffa jacket with a furry hood and a black woolly beanie hat :)

In This Outfit:
Top - Primark
Leggings - h&m
Socks - Tesco
Brogues - Primark
Beanie - River Island
Necklace - Topshop
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Outfit Two:
This was an outfit I put together to go christmas present and decoration shopping! I watched a couple of old school Gossip Girl episodes recently and was inspired to bring back this school girl - Blair Waldorf look! With a spiky headband as a goth-like twist!

Shirt with bow - boohoo.com
Pleated skirt - Topshop
Grey woolly tights - h&m
Brogues - Vintage
Cardigan - Zara
Belt - Vintage

How To Wear Vintage: OOTDS

LOOK 1

A dressed up look for Autumn - I braved it with the skin coloured tights - so chilly!! Replace with thick woolly
tights if you aren't feeling like freezing your butt off!! Anyway, this is my more dressed up look for Autumn. I think this outfit is perfect for a lunch date or early evening date! I love mixing Vintage and high street pieces. I think this is a great way to make my fantastically tacky 80s crop top look more contemporary!

In This Outfit
Turquoise Collie Dog Top - Vintage
Brown Jersey pencil skirt - H&M
Scarf- Barbour
Brown heels - New Look

LOOK 2

Here I'm wearing a casual daytime look, you could wear this to college or shopping in the Autumn/Winter!
When I got this 50's dress it was ankle length and had a full skirt.. I cut off the skirt as you may be able to tell from my wonky cutting haha, i love it now though. Just goes to show how a tiny bit of editing can make a previously 'old-fashioned' looking piece look really on trend and modern!

In This Outfit:
Grey collared dress - Vintage
Brown and gold buckle belt - Vintage
Black tights - Primark
Black shoes - New Look
Grey Beret - H&M

LOOK 3

This is more of a 'going out' outfit!

Here I styled this fantastic 80s silk blazer with my disco pants and a bow tie and shirt. When a vintage piece is as bold as this one is you might as well make a statement out of it! I love wearing this silk blazer tied round the middle with my tight fitting disco pants to balance out the great, but rather voluminous, 80s shoulders. You could also cut out the shoulder pads of your vintage clothes if you want to make them look more  fashionable and contemporary.

In This Outfit:
Pink silk blazer : Vintage
White bow collar shirt - ASOS
Black Disco Pants - American Apparel
Black Panama hat - River Island
Black and white heeled brouges - Topshop

Hope you are all having a lovely Autumn, I'm getting pretty excited for winter/christmas!!

ALSO

If you haven't voted for me for the FASHTAGTV competition, nows your chance! haha.. go over to the fashtagtv facebook page OR the @fashtag Instagram OR the fashtagtv youtube page and comment 'Number 5!' to help me win! Two more ootds!

Hey guys!
here are two more outfit of the day pics for you! I've been wearing my new maroon top from Primark! I looooove this top so much, the colour is amazing for autumn/winter and the drapey shape really dresses up a casual look! :)

Here I'm wearing my top with plain black skinny jeans, a robin snood and my spiky jewelry/hair band! This was my Halloween-daytime look so I thought I would goth it up a bit on the accessories front!

In This Outfit (basically all Primark!) :
Maroon top - Primark
Snood - Primark
Gold brogues - Primark
Hair band - Primark!
Spiked braclet - Forever 21
Skull bracelet - Kukee.co.uk

This is more of an evening-y look I wore to dinner with a friend, I did my nails especially for the occasion but ruined them just after this photo was taken :'(
Aaanyway, hope you like :)

In This Outfit:
Maroon top -Primark
Black leggings - H&M

 Autumn Leaves
This is my 'autumnal lookbook'! :)

Just a few OOTD's to show you how I style autumnal colours and styles! I love autumn! Halloween! Colourful leaves! Bonfires! Woolly Scarves! YAY!

This outfit shows me sporting the 'berry' trend for the season, I wore this berry coloured jumper/top  I bought in H&M last year.. I love the draping on the back, I think it gives this basic outfit a bit of a fashionable edge! I really like the colours in this outfit, this is exactly the colour palette I think of when I think of autumn clothes!

In this Outfit:
berry draped top - H&M
Black disco pants - American Apparel
Green Woolly cardigan - local boutique
brown belt & shoes - Topshop

Mulberry lipstick - Russian red by MAC and Mulberry by SLEEK

PLEASE also take a look at my latest lookbook outfit! :

http://lookbook.nu/look/4105790-chocolate-milkshake
In this outfit:
Red beret - Primark
Black top - Topshop
Floral skirt -Spitalfields Market
Black long socks - Topshop
Red coat - New Look

Last of all, this is a casual autumnal look with a more 'rocker' 'biker' vibe, its a great way to reuse your summer clothes too, just put a pair of black tights with your denim shorts and chuck a leather jacket over your jersey vest! I wore this look to walk around East London on a Sunday and it was perfect for the 'sunny but a bit chilly' weather that London is having at the moment.. I tend to wear more girlie/cutsy outfits in Autumn/Winter but this is a nice change from that!

In This Outfit:
White Jersey Tank - H&M
Black leather jacket- Miss Selfridge
Denim cut off shorts - Beyond Retro
Sunnies - Topshop
necklaces - a gift and a charity shop

hope you're all well and excited for halloween/autumn in general!

Moroccan Holiday Part 2
This post is a bit long! Be warned!

Oh Hi! I'm back from Morocco and I had an absolutely amazing time and I thought I would share my holiday outfit choices with you guys! How fun!

I did have to cover up a bit when I was walking around but I didn't want to dress dowdily

So.. here's what I chose to wear on the second half of my holiday..hope you enjoy!
(press the pics to make 'em bigger)

Outfit One:
Black leotard - American Apparel
Peach midi skirt - ASOS
White belt - Charty shop
Black lace bandeau - River Island

I wear this black leotard all the time in the winter as a staple piece but this was a great way to bring it into my summer wardrobe! I really like it with this bright peach skirt, it made a nice evening outfit. The back of the leotard is really low so I had to put a little lace bandeau underneath!

Outfit Two:
Coral Shirt - River Island
Brown Jersey Maxi - River Island
Black skinny belt - Topshop

I wore this jersey maxi quite a lot while I was away because I felt the colour really worked! I like it with this coral top, I never would have put these two together normally but when I tried this I liked the palette, tres cute!

Outfit Three:
Brown jersey maxi skirt/dress - River Island
Brown and Gold belt- Topshop
Gold necklace - Tophop/diy
Black flatforms - River Island

Here's an evening outfit I put together to go for drinks with some friends while we were there. I decided to wear my maxi skirt as a dress, which is a great way to get more use out of one! I simply chucked a brown and gold belt round the middle and wore a chunky gold necklace and I thought it ended up as a pretty cute outfit! This is defo one of my fav outfits of the trip!

Outfit Four:
White vest - H&M
White bandeau - River Island
Peach silk skirt - Charity shop
Grey belt - Charity shop

Lastly I wore this outfit which I thought was really cute! I wore my peach silk midi from a charity shop and muy plain jersey vest, I put a little white bandeau underneath and it turned out pretty nicely! I really like the lighter colour palette in this outfit :)

Hope you're all well!

Moroccan Holiday- Part One!

This post is a bit long! Be warned!

Oh Hi! I'm back from Morocco and I had an absolutely amazing time and I thought I would share my holiday outfit choices with you guys! How fun!

I did have to cover up a bit when I was walking around but I didn't want to dress dowdily (is dowdily a word? I don't think so.. it's not coming up on spell check so.. Well it is now)

So.. here's what I chose to wear on the first half of my holiday..hope you enjoy!
(press the pics to make 'em bigger)

Outfit One-
Black tank top - h&m
Peach silk skirt - Charity Shop
Pastel scarf - Market
Necklace - Topshop

This was an evening outfit in Essaouira I wore this peach silk skirt I bought in a charity shop a week before for  around £3-£4 (bargain) I paired it with a simple vest top and the pastel scarf I bought in the markets of Marrakesh

I also wore it with this necklace - I bought this at topshop and it had lots of gold dangley bits hanging off it but I decided I didn't like them anymore so I broke them all off! ..I like it now!)

Outfit Two -
Peach Jersey shirt - River Island
Floral trousers - Primark
Blue plimsoles - Primark
Brown belt - River Island
Sunnies - Beyond Retro

This is an outfit I wore to walk around the Souks in Marrakesh.. I love these flower print cotton trousers I bought from Primark those paired with the blue plimsoles I'm wearing were some of my star holiday shopping buys!

Outfit Three-
Nude jersey long sleeve top - Topshop
Peach silk skirt - Charity shop
White/Grey reversible belt - Charity Shop
Sunglasses - Beyond Retro
Hand of fatima earrings - Essaouira Souk

This is another outfit from Essaouira wearing the same peach skirt but this time with a long sleeve nude top for the  daytime, so that I could be a bit more covered up when I was walking around the Souks.

I wore it with this belt I bought in a charity shop that my boyfriend actually pointed out is reversible and I never realised before! I have always worn it the other way (as a grey belt) but I spent a lot of the holiday wearing it the white way and it felt like a whole new belt :) (it's the little things!)

Outfit Four -
Black and White stripe bikini - Primark
White chiffon Caftan - (Mum's wardrobe - I dunno, I can find out if you really want to know)
Sunnies- Beyond Retro

This is on the rooftop of our Riad in Essaouira where I was free to wear some more revealing - 'holiday-ish' clothes.

This is actually a sheer white Caftan my mum lent me for the trip! It looked super chic with my classic black and white striped bikini and new Russian Red lipstick by MAC, I am a happy bunny.

Outfit Five -
Peach jersey shirt -River Island
Turquoise cotton trousers - Primark
Polka dot flip flops - Primark
Sunnies - Beyond Retro

Another star buy here from Primark - these green/turquoise cotton trousers were fantastic on this holiday - they kept me cool but also covered up and also led to some much more colourful outfit choices from me too! I was glad to step of my pinky\nude or black\grey shell and into this coral and turquoise ensemble :) great for covering up on the beach too!

Look!.. It also looks good on a camel! :)

More to come!
