On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

Hey Guys,
This is just a quick post I put together in honor of the Mean Girls 10th anniversary today! I thought it might be cute to select all my favourite pieces from the lovely pink things that are available on the highstreet at the moment.. as we all know I have a weakness for pink...and it is a Wednesday...

Sparkly, tacky & matching.. I'm pretty sure this little pink set has already sold out on the Topshop website! But perhaps we can recreate it with other matching pink items in our wardobe?

A beautiful blush pink smock from the lovely people at The White Pepper.. if you don't know this website & you are a pastel lover like me you are missing out big time...I mean I can't afford to buy any of the stuff but it's nice to dream...

River Island makes the pink dress casual by reinventing it in acid wash jersey.. we likey. I am also a fan of these 90's style thin halter straps that are appearing at the moment, but I am unsure how I would tackle them without the use of a better strapless bra tbh..yep..I talked about bras...ON THE INTERNET.

A delicous silky shirt dress from topshop.. I like the idea of wearing this with silver heels and a silver clutch and partying  till the wee hours..or just wearing it to a picnic, which is much more likely in my life ;)

Last of all.. the shoes! The first pair are some espadrilles from Topshop - i really like these, i think they would look supercute (now one word) with plain jeans and a tee in the summertime as a nice POPof colour. Secondly.. the jellies are back, this time is pastel pink..'ooooooh' my 5 year old self stares at them in wonder & amazement! Last of all this adorable pair of kitten heels from New Look which I think would top off my vintage floral co-ord perfectly..hmm...

Well, that's all for now folks! Sorry if you don't like pink!!!

Little April Favourites

Hey guys!
Today's post is all my favourite things from the month of April! This month has been very Spring-like, it has involved: splatterings of Spring showers & sunshine, blossom falling, sandal shopping, new floral scents, lighter evenings & lots of chocolate eating!

My random favourite of the month is this book which was a gift from my boyfriend! I am a massive fan of Wes Anderson, I love the style aesthetic and themes of his films, so this book was the perfect choice for me. I highly recommend it, its got some great background stories from the films & some fantastic illustrations. As you may notice I have based the images on a 'Wes Anderson' theme throughout this post, you may also spot some of the adorable illustrations as the backgrounds to some of the following photos!

My lipstick favourite of the month is 'See Sheer' by MAC. It is a nice peachy red which (as suggested by the name) has a nice sheer tint rather than full colour.. its a perfect lipstick to wear on a warm spring afternoon with a summer dress or a casual outfit :).

My favourite fashion piece of the month is this vintage belt, I bought this a long while ago in a charity shop and I have rekindled my love for it this season! It is reversible so it can be worn as a dove grey belt or a white belt, it also has both gold and silver in the buckle making it my most versatile accessory!

My scent favourite is a more recent purchase but is definitely an instant favourite - The Orla Kiely perfume! I found my bottle in none other than the trusty TK maxx and bought it without even sniffing it! Luckily its lovely, floral and fruity but not too sweet - the perfect spring scent!

I hope you liked this post, as you may be able to tell I am working on my blog presentation a little bit so I hope you like the new style too! How was your April? Have you got any particular recommendations?

Happy Easter! I finally managed to get round to taking some proper outfit shots for my blog, so I hope you like them! This is just a pastel outfit I put together with my recent purchases to show you how I style my Vintage Style Me Suzy dress :)

IN THIS OUTFIT
DRESS - VINTAGESTYLEME....SHOES - RIVER ISLAND....BAG - PRIMARK....BOW-PRIMARK

I hope you liked this post! I promise to try and get more personal style posts up in the future, as you may be able to tell it is a bit tricky to find a place to photograph the outfits in our little studio & the weather rarely allows for arty outside shoots!! Either way I shall try to get more up when I can :)

On a side note, This is also my 100th post on Duskdarlingstyle! So, I just want to say a huge thank you to those of you who take the time to click the link and come and see what I have babbled on to this page..I really, really value having people out there who visit my little blog! If you are there and you haven't said 'hello' yet, pleeeease say hello - I genuinely love to hear that you are there reading..! Here's to the next 100 posts of pastel themed outfits, too many lipsticks, Halloween costumes and hopefully much more to come!

Hope you are having a delightful Easter weekend, I am off to munch a lot of chocolate!

Moonrise Kingdom

I've put together a little styling post based on the movie Moonrise Kingdom! I hope you like it!

Suzy Bishop

The first style is based on the main female character Suzy bishop - the film is full of beautiful mustard and red tones which gives it a wonderful 1960s feel. Suzy wears contrast collar shirt dresses with long white socks throughout the film - a girl after my own heart <3 nbsp="" p="">

Sam Shakusky

Sam is a scout and wears khaki green, mustard yellow, geek specs and a fur hat! What is not to love? I have made the outfit girl friendly clearly! haha..

That's all for fashion folks! Just a little addition I thought I would pop in here are these home deco extras from the movie that make me swoon!

If you haven't seen Moonrise Kingdom I would definitely recommend it - if only for the style and art direction
